Using various techniques to maximise ground investigations

Ground investigations are undertaken for a variety of reasons, such as complying with planning permission, informing geotechnical design for new buildings and structures, adding valuations during due diligence for land acquisition and investigating pollution incidents or ground failure incidents, such as slope failure or sinkhole occurrence. They are planned in a staged manner, based upon the client’s requirements and the information in the conceptual site model or ground model available at the stage of work.
