A consultancy delivering cost-effective and robust environmental due diligence reports
RSK Geosciences’ consultancy services include provision of environmental due diligence (EDD) reports, supporting clients at the beginning of the land acquisition and land purchasing process. We regularly advise clients on potential liabilities associated with a land transaction or a portfolio of transactions. Recent examples include assessment of a portfolio of more than 50 commercial properties located across the UK. Work included site walkover surveys, review of previous reports and relevant information made available via the project data room and preparation of a high-level technical appraisal-style report for each site. This project included a prioritisation exercise whereby sites were prioritised for intrusive investigation based on the presence of potentially unacceptable contamination and/or geotechnical risks being present.
A separate project was also recently completed for a portfolio of data centre sites in England and France. Working with colleagues in RSK France, the RSK Geosciences team carried out detailed due diligence assessments associated with transfer of ownership for a continued data centre use. Work for this project included a site visit to inspect the current facility, a Phase 1 desktop survey, review of previous desk-based and intrusive investigation reports and review of environmental permits, regulatory actions recorded, planning records and other relevant information made available by the seller to our client. On completion, online meetings were held to present the findings of the assessments to the client and investors to support the acquisition negotiations.
