We work with clients to co-create a bespoke procurement strategy

Through discussion with the client, RSK Geosciences will develop a bespoke procurement strategy. Primarily, the time, cost and quality priorities or objectives will be defined, helping to establish any requirements of the client’s procurement system and/or public funding rules. A project brief will then be drafted to confirm the objectives and the documentation required to describe how these objectives and any quality standards will be met. We prepare an initial risk or opportunity register to capture potential issues and then review and implement measures to control risk and create opportunity. The project programme is then developed (typically on a Gantt chart in MS Project) to identify the timescales, the milestone activities and a critical path.

We will prepare an initial cost plan for the project by estimating the quantities and applying market rates to develop a cost for the known works. We will agree the allocation of risks, e.g., a change in quantities, unforeseen ground conditions, a change in the law, adverse weather or a ‘force majeure’ event. We are on hand to discuss the options and propose the standard form of contract to be used.
