Client: Bowmer + Kirkland
Background
Bowmer + Kirkland, a leading construction development company, recognised the complexities of waste management regulations across its diverse construction sites. The team wanted proactive measures to enhance compliance and environmental practices, and in response, RSK Geosciences’ waste and resources team developed a tailored training programme to meet these needs.
Solution
A tailored waste management training programme was developed that was suitable for a range of staff, from technical managers through to those actively managing construction sites.
The training sessions, conducted virtually over nine morning sessions, provided a deep dive into various aspects of waste management compliance and site waste management plans with practical elements to support learning.
Key topics included:
- an overview of duty of care regulations and the role of regulatory authorities
- the importance of waste duty of care and compliance in waste management
- practical guidance on reviewing paperwork for waste leaving sites and conducting compliance checks
- on-site waste management practices aligned with the latest regulations
- site waste management plans and considerations within them
- hands-on learning experiences and practical tasks to reinforce learning.
