RSK Geosciences wins prestigious GE Workforce Award!

We are thrilled to announce that RSK Geosciences took home the award for Excellence in Learning and Development at the Ground Engineering (GE) Awards and the new GE Workforce Awards on Wednesday, 19th of June. It was a fantastic night for the wider RSK Group, with multiple RSK businesses shortlisted across the 2024 awards programme including Structural Soils and Central Alliance.

RSK Geosciences is also celebrating Georgia Malin, (Leap Environmental) for being shortlisted as a Rising Star Finalist.

RSK Geosciences won this prestigious award in recognition of its Training and Development Programme, which has gone from strength to strength over the last year providing significantly increased learning and development opportunities for the team. The Geosciences business has always had a strong culture of learning and development (L&D), informed by RSK’s Guiding Principles and our goal to be considered by geosciences professionals as the employer of choice. This strong focus on L&D was taken to the next level in 2023 through the appointment of Training and Development Director, Mike Owens to the RSK Geosciences leadership team. Since then, RSK Geosciences has launched a series of in-house training initiatives, including a staff-wide event held at Warwick University to share knowledge, delivered over 30 technical training seminars, launched its own innovative tiered geotechnical training programme, and developed tailored chartership workshops.

Commenting on these achievements, the GE judges said: “RSK is committed to delivering excellence in learning and development through committing significant senior internal technical resources towards its initiative and the implementation of university learning techniques. The array of blended learning was impressive and inclusive.”

Congratulations to Mike and the team at RSK Geosciences! A huge well done must also go to all the RSK businesses and colleagues that were shortlisted at this year’s awards.

“After a rollercoaster of a year for the industry, it was lovely to be able to come together to celebrate the industry and showcase its achievements. We received more than 320 submissions, making it another record-breaking year. We also launched the GE Workforce Awards, which were a great success. A big thanks goes to our expert judges, who went through two intensive stages of judging, including reviewing the 324 entries and participating in face-to-face and online presentations.

Thank you also to our sponsors, supporters and partners for their continued support. And a huge congratulations to all the deserving winners and highly commended entries from the GE team!”
